Mornington might be better known as a chardonnay and pinot noir region, but occasionally it can jag a decent cab sav. This mature cab sav from Merricks Estate is ready to go, and shows appealing plum, dried leaf, sandalwood and toast on the nose, whilst the palate is more medium-bodied and savoury, with some licks of subtle cassis and plum, mellow tannins, and an earthy, toasty finish that will see this match well with game birds and meats.
